We went apple picking for a little fall fun. It has finally cooled down so we wanted to squeeze in apple picking before it was too late. The apples are ripe starting in August but it is just too hot so we made it out on the last day of picking. It was perfect out sunny and cool(er). It was a great day; Joey and Jack picked one apple each- sat down and ate them. Jake did all the work! He picked and picked and even climbed trees to get the good apples! We picked two bags of apples. It was a great time. After picking we sat down for a picnic lunch. As we were cleaning up to leave Joey decided to climb on one of the metal wagons' handles, next thing we knew Joey was screaming and blood was everywhere. We had to rush to the dentist because Joey knocked his two front teeth back into his mouth. He bit through his bottom lip as well and the tears would not stop. I rushed the entire hour drive to the dentist while Joey screamed the entire way. He was brave once we were there and the bleeding stopped. We have since found out that the two front teeth are "dead" and will have to be pulled. The fun day ended on a sour note but 3 boys and the oldest being 5- not too bad for our first "emergency!"
See the pictures of the fun part of our day here...

Joey's 3rd Birthday
Joey is 3! We cannot believe this little guy is 3 already, and either can he. He reminds us daily that he is still a baby and that he will not go potty! But that is ok, he has always been on his own schedule and we are just stand-byers in his world. Our little Joey is definitely an introvert and a big party is not his cup of tea. He did want to have a party but we kept it small. The morning of the party he told me he did not want any friends at his party but I had to tell him they were already invited and we would have to try to have fun with them. He did have fun and no fights, he just played alone. The only time we was not too happy was when we sang Happy Birthday to him. He had a very grouchy face and when I asked why he said, "I don't want no one to sing to me!" in his best southern accent!

Jacob's 5th Birthday
STAR WARS
Jacob has found Star Wars this year and he is absolutely obsessed. Of course, he wanted a Star Wars birthday party! His idea was Jedi Training. He developed an obstacle course for the party guests. The young Jedi had to go through Hot Lava, Lightsaber practice, cross the jungle and keep a balloon in the air with their lightsaber, then Destroy the Death Star! Jacob was very involved in the planning right down to what we should eat; sandwiches, tomatoes and homemade cake. We had a great time even with an unexpected guest.... Darth Vador!

Jack's First Birthday
Our baby is 1!
It is so hard to believe this little guy is one year old! He has been the perfect addition to our family. The big boys couldn't love him more and he wants to be just like them! He is a happy guy and always looking to laugh, when he is not teething. He loves to eat and play outside! We celebrated hi birthday with a Ball Party with family and friends. He loved it but got a little sleepy at the end.

A New Family Member
Look who followed me home from the park! I saw this sweet little kitten get dropped off at the park. It just broke my heart so I called her over and she came running and followed me home. She is the sweetest little thing. At about 20 weeks old she is a playful kitten but house trained. She is loving and gentle. The boys fell in love right away and were so excited to hear we could keep her! We are all a little smitten! After much discussion we finally agreed to call her Jetta- a mix of Jedi and Jada. She has the prettiest coat and lovely green eyes.

Little Man
Our Jackie is 6 months and popped two teeth out!
Like his brothers he is not a great teether. When he is teething he is up more at night, fun for mama! He is such a busy boy that I actually do not mind the little extra time at night to cuddle with him (within reason). He is scooting backwards and in 360 degree circles. He can really move but gets frustrated that he is not moving forward. Jack is eating great and loving his zippy cup of water. Too bad he will not take a bottle or a cup of milk. Stinker! His brothers love him dearly and he cannot help but laugh when they are around. One day Joey was crying and looked at Jack only to receive a huge smile. He then stopped crying and said, "My baby makes me feel better!" Jack pulls the boys' hair and tries to take toys out of their hands but they do not mind it one little bit. They just smile at him and give him kisses! We love our baby!

Christmas 2013
We headed to Ohio again for Christmas. The boys were all sick and did a great job in the car! (We might just need to be sick before every trip to Ohio.) Beyond the drive the sicknesses kept us from taking our visit to Zanesville and visiting some other friends. I think the boys had a great Christmas overall.
